AI, or more precisely, large language models (LLMs), is one of the most promising trends in computer technology since the Internet. While opinions on LLMs' usefulness and the timeline for AGI vary, LLMs are already proving useful in specific scenarios today, such as structuring unstructured content, content generation, chatbots, and text analysis. This talk will explore practical examples of LLM applications and demonstrate how to build an LLM-connected application on AWS using AWS Bedrock and other popular services. We'll cover the process of integrating multiple LLMs into a production-ready application, discussing best practices and potential challenges along the way. Whether you're a developer, data scientist, or AI enthusiast, this talk will provide insights and hands-on experience leveraging LLMs on AWS to create powerful and efficient applications.

This session dives into the world of serverless data engineering, exploring how to create, orchestrate, and transform data without managing servers and using step functions as orchestrators. We'll showcase the power of this approach by building a scalable data pipeline specifically for handling the Do Not Call numbers registry for various countries. This practical example will demonstrate how serverless architectures can streamline data processing for various use cases, allowing you to focus on data insights and not infrastructure.

The cloud is all about elasticity and right-sizing. Microservice architectures are keen to be implemented in containers, and Kubernetes arguably the most common orchestrator to run them. These containers, being (usually) stateless, are good candidates to use the cloud elasticity, so scaling them should be a well-known task. We’ll talk about different scaling approaches and focus on Karpenter - the new groupless cluster autoscaler, that can dramatically improve the efficiency and cost of running workloads on your cluster. Note: The session will include demo part - to compare with autoscaler and how to work with karpenter.
